Miss E turns 1 in a week y’all!! My how time flies, it feel like yesterday we brought her home from the hospital. You may have noticed I’ve been a bit MIA over last few weeks and that’s mainly because I’ve been in major mommy mode and planning her birthday shindigs. It took the hubs and I forever to decide what we were gonna do and in the end we caved and decided to have a party after a friend told me to view it as a celebration of both Miss E and us surviving the first year (thanks T and enjoy Oz).
I decided to go for a Doc McStuffins theme party as she is still Miss E’s fav show.
I went with a red velvet and cream cheese frosting Doc themed cake. It was made by a talented baker I know by the name of Serena. Cake making is her hobby if you can believe it. It tasted super yummy as did the dairy and egg free chocolate cake she made especially for Miss E and my mum to chow down on.
Sweet Buffet Table
A got a set of 6 pre-filled plastic sweet jars and purple spotted paper sweet bags from EBay. I made the sign using a template I found online and a white picture frame I had kicking about at home.
I bought a downloadable Doc McStuffins party box template from Etsy and spent a very boring evening printing, cutting and gluing.
Inside the boxes were:
A box of crayons
Doc McStuffins Bubbles
Organix Apple and Orange oat bars
Ethnic skint one plasters
Doc McStuffins colouring sheets
Doc McStuffins stickers
My sister and Miss E’s aunt, otherwise known as MoHair made these lovely cupcakes which I topped with some Doc McStuffins rice cupcakes toppers I bought from EBay.
Because I wanted the party to be child friendly, I hired a soft play package from Softly Does It. The service was impeccable and friendly and the kids really seemed to enjoy it, especially the birthday girl.
My sister also took charge of the décor of the venue. She went all out making Doc McStuffins paper cut out mobiles, paper pompoms and cute flower table centrepieces
